These music themed paintings were created by my daughters as part of their sixth form art studies.
As part of there studies on this music theme, they first created several preparation sheets. They both love music too, one plays drums the other piano, so painting music certainly had their interest.
From those they then created 3D compositions of the music elements they had chosen, using mixed media including cardboard to create the 3d effects.
From those preparations, they then had to transfer their ideas onto canvas and paint their individual compositions.
My daughters are twins, yet as you can see from the photos of their respective paintings, they have very different styles.

The 'eldest' (by about 12 minutes - that's very important you know) went for a neutral color pallet, whilst the 'younger' of the two, being the colorist that she is, went for a more vibrant color theme.
As I'm their mum, I think they are both gorgeous. And it was really great fun watching them go through the whole creative process. I did avoid stepping in with my paint brush, and was happily on hand with a couple of tips and to answer questions when asked.
There's only one problem with having two additional artists in the house : they keep pinching my paint and brushes!
