Buying a commercial kiln can be restrictive on cost, therefore, this alternative budget version option might be of interest to you.

Below you'll find the instructions on how to Make Your Own Kiln by :
Simon Leach, a well know ceramicist in his own right and son of David Leach, a master potter. Simon's brothers are also potters.


Simon built this kiln for use as a raku kiln, using a wire frame, ceramic fiber and several homemade ceramic buttons. It's gas fired via a cheaply available garden weed burner.
