Profile Information

Tell us here... My main art, hobby, craft is ....
O.k., so here's the scoop... I totally dig creating reconstructed toy creatures, puppets, motorized, faeries/fairies, handmade gemstone/art glass/precious metal jewelry, sock puppet clothing, Gothic "children's" story books, ritual tools, crystal wands and wildcrafted apothecary bath soaks/skin oils.
I'm always eager to learn how to develop crafting skills in new ways and how to incorporate "old things". I believe in re-use/recycle. I am inspired to be surrounded by the artistic, magickal folks in this group!
I joined Art hobby to:
learn a new craft, connect with other crafters & artists, share techniques and advice, connect with others, start a group page, start a business, gain marketing tips, all of the above
I would also like to learn how to :
write articles on AHC, start my own blog, sell my work, market my products
Which Country or Town are you located?
Tewksbury, CA, USA
Tell Us More (we'd like to get to know you better). About Me and My Art, Hobby, Craft:
I live for play! I've spent 23 years designing and I learn something new every week. I source only fair trade and recycled or vintage materials for my hand crafted pieces, which are usually one offs or very limited editions. I'm always open to trading ideas and artwork products. Current projects include the Faeries of Raven's Haven and "undead" Lilly Lalloo of Dundee.

Thanks for your message. Hopefully the World , during and after the Copenhagen Summit, will pull its socks up. The environment's been punished badly for so many years and too few were interested in caring for it on a day to day basis.

Just about to construct two full size puppet legs from Polyurethane Wire Helix tubes - and somehow I thought I'd visit your page and catch up with your news.

Hello Raina,
Are you in Berkley, CA?
I'm currently in New England, with connections down south.
The Tree Sculptures are fantastic!
be well,

So, as Grants said many trees have been "assisted" in their growth habit. The one on my main website is actually a natural beauty though. She has been shot under just the right lighting at just the right angle. It isn't my own photo though. It is a pretty famous photo tat has been made available for tree "huggers" like me to enjoy.

Those interested in the Tree on Raina's Web Site (Right hand side of index page) may also be interested in the similarly curious one on Tracey's web site (Index Page right hand side).

... I hear the question repeat and repeat ... "Are these trees natural?". Many trees of this 'Nature' are manipulated. The famous Tree Circus in USA is now a shadow of itself. We've done some early tree circus work here at the HoBB Gardens but those curious to see what can be done with our branched friends, should visit the Pooktre Gardens

Rainaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
How's that project progressing (Faeries of Raven's Haven and "undead" Lilly Lalloo of Dundee.)?
I've finished 8 of the 35 ELF early years English reader books and they are being 'tested' in a few UK schools - just to get useful feed back from Primary teachers.
All best

Hi Raina, I love that photo of the tree on your site - sculptural figure - is that really a natural tree? Great jewelry too :-) Warm welcome to Art hobby craft. Diane
