Hi Kat...Merry Christmas..hope you have a wonderful days..
I haven't continue my projects yet..I'm sorry I haven't try your patterns also..I'm so busy lately so I use most of my time resting = )
So how's your projects?
Hello! Thanks for the complement! I only sell at a local shop in Marietta Ohio called the Black Sheep. I didn't have time to set up a web site to sell my things due to having to move this year and spending every waking moment catching up with creating things for the shop. I am hoping to find a place to sell my things online next year. I would love to have my own web site but haven't had the time to do homework on how to get started without having to pay through the nose to get one set up. As soon as things get settled I'd like to design my web site so that I can sell OOAK items online. I will also be looking into how to find a company to license some of my designs to sell to trade shows. I 'd like to make some money through royalties so I could concentrate on writing how to do art project books. Oh, so many possibilities, so little time!!!!!!
Until next time, Blessings!
Thanks for the complement! Your sculptures are fantastic as well!! I make mine with paper clay. It's a great product to work with and sooo easy to use. By the way, welcome to Art Craft Hobby.
Hello Kat, thank you for adding me as your friend = )
Yes it's like a baseball head..do you know how to make those kind of pattern?
I'm sorry, I never heard about Susan Oyrans books but I'd be glad to know what it is.
Thanks before = )
Hi Kat,
Thanks again.
Some of the flowers are done with the new soft clay called Deco clay. (Most of my pics have a description under them if you go to the photos tab rather than the slide show). They are the first ones I experimented with. Then I discovered the ultimate...Japanese Luna clay and Thai clay. This gives the most realistic results. It's consistency is like cold porcelain clay but it drys to a flexible finish instead of a hard finish. The clay is tinted with artist oil paints and after drying are painted/shaded with the oils again. The clay can be put through a pasta machine at the thinnest of settings and still maintain it's shape. The parts are then sculpted, frilled and veined. I do wire all the petals and leaves with very fine paper covered wire. Because I work six days a week at a regular job and teach a ceramics class 1 night a week my productivity is very limited. No, no galleries...most items are purchased via word of mouth or used as gifts. I do a few scattered shows here and there and wish I had more time to devote to things...but, the bills have to get paid! I have won several national awards and many accolades for my work over the years. I would like to get a website up but seem to sell everything before I can show anything. Maybe when I hit retirement, I'll be able to devote myself to things more fully. If you are interested in any of the materials used and if you search around on my page and conversations you can find where to get things. let me know if you need assistance.
